Summary: the doctor never took the time to meet with me before my procedure and has put very little to no effort in honoring scheduled appointments. I full-heartedly regret being a client to this practice.
I have had the extraordinary displeasure of being a patient of Dr. Timothy Smith. Every appointment I've had has either been rescheduled multiple times or the doctor has been a no show, ultimately wasting my time and money.
Here's only 1 of my recent experiences: The front staff is not attentive to the phones, which makes getting into the office on time to make appointments difficult during the Covid pandemic. They requested i call when outside the office because they lock the door to the suite, but they didn't answer the phone when I was calling, waiting outside, causing me to be several minutes later to my appointment. By the time I had been let in (because of someone who was leaving), the doctor had already moved on to another appointment. It was clear that I had been allocated less than 15 minutes of the doctors time to discuss the results of an invasive procedure. That's ok. Partly my fault because I was running a little late. So we rescheduled for a phone appointment.
The phone appointment was for 4:30 in the afternoon. I already do not trust this office, nor the doctor any longer, so I called the office around noon to confirm the appointment was going to be virtual/over the phone. When I got a hold of the front desk, they thought I was coming in. This was very odd because the nurse I scheduled with said it was a phone appointment. The nurse I'm talking to then caught an error and said the other person who scheduled it must have coded it wrong. She confirms with me the appointment will be virtual: I should receive a text with a link to speak with Dr. Smith. Great, seemingly...
I rush to finish up my work before the talk and I walk in my home just before 430... No text link has been received yet. So I just assumed he would call me. 440 rolls by and no call and no text. That's not good because I have another virtual doctors appointment at 5. I tried calling North Shore GI to see what's going on. However, they stop answering calls at 430. I chose to get a hold of their answering service which leaves me on hold until about 450. The answering service forwards my call to the front desk. The nurse runs to check if doctor Smith is available but when she returns, she tells me that Dr. Smith thought I would coming in for the appointment, even though I called to confirm it would be virtual. Then she says he's booked out until October. No follow up has been made as of this posting.
I am absolutely livid about the situation and cannot believe a doctor or doctors staff would allow 7 months to pass to discuss the results of an invasive procedure. I feel disrespected by this practice.
As I said, that's only 1 of my experiences with this practice and it's not the only time they've wasted my time or made me feel like I'm not worth their respect.
