3 weeks ago I called and made an appointment for a Monday morning endoscopy. On Friday at 4:45pm I get a call from the Insurnace department in the hospital that my insurance denied the procedure. She asks if the GI lab called me to let me know. This is the Friday before the Monday I need to come in at 6am.

I had not heard from them. I called the GI lab and asked about the denied insurance. Joanne said that they can appeal it but because it’s 4:45pm on Friday and they have to clock out right away since they are not approved for overtime, it will have to be next week.

My appointment was cancelled. Please note I had to request time off and arrange rides for this endoscopy, that had been scheduled for 3 weeks. Why did they wait the day before the weekend to get the procedure approved by insurance? When I had called multiple times the week before to confirm everything was good to go.

On Monday I call for next steps regarding appealing the denial with the insurance company. Joanne says that her coworker is going to call today. I ask for an email with a case number confirming that the process has been started. She assures me that they will do this. Now it’s Wednesday, I haven’t heard from them or received an email. I called and left a message.

This entire process has been terribly stressful. I have been struggling with Ulcer pains since July and after treatment plans from the PCP didn’t work out I attempted to schedule the endoscopy as soon as appointments were made available.

This entire ongoing process has caused me so much stress and is not helping my stomach. Also I have to take in consideration that this procedure requires me to be put under anesthesia. I no longer trust the practice and their staff due to the lack of communication, planning and overall patient care. I made it very clear that I needed to get this procedure done before the end of the year.

I do not recommend.

Everyone was wonderful, very professional until the end when I was so anxious that I wanted to jump out of my skin!
Upon my discharge my attending nurse responded to my anxiety by telling me that she was following hospital protocols, that I needed to consider that my actions could cost her her license.
It’s not my job to protect her job and a more appropriate response might have been to ask another person to intercede to allay my anxiety.

What a horrible experience. They called multiple times changes appointments, when we get to the check in we find out only the patient is allowed back. So my nerves wife's has to sit back alone tell its time for her procedure and get to sit alone in recovery tell she discharge. Then we have to try and meet her at a different door on the other side of the hospital.

Absolutely terrible. I would advise that no one go to this office. Appointments are always cancelled and pushed out. They will even call you while you are already prepping for a procedure to reschedule. The medical assistant puts false information in your notes and files. No one will call you back, and it takes months to get basic responses, or prescriptions. This is the most ridiculous and incompetent medical office I have ever dealt with.

I have never gotten such super service anywhere in my life as I did here at this office. The people and staff were excellent and caring and one staff member that stood out and went above and beyond here job while keeping a professional attitude If any doctors office or specialist office would give the level of customer service that was given to me like this one everyones experience would be incredible my hats off to the doctor berry Ross his assistant Vanessa that made sure I understand everything I needed to know and sherry smith the woman that with out her help and caring for my well being I would of not have gotten what I needed to have done today she is an "A" plus person and a person everyone should try and be like thank to all u guys and can't wait to see u all again.
