EDIT: Woah! I can’t believe that the owners would shame a customer like that for leaving a disappointing review. I didn’t want to leave a description for the reason that you were a small business but since “you saw me in your camera allegedly asking for samples” here it goes,

I never stepped foot in your shop. A friend of mine came in to order. We like to support small businesses and our fav ice cream shop shut down, which is why we were out trying new places. My friend did not ask for even a single sample. Instead, they placed an order for about 4 different things off the menu. We never got asked if we wanted to take the items to go or for dine in. I am not sure, how you expect one person to get such a big order for the spot. Plus half of the stuff was very very sweet. I understand ice cream shops are supposed to be sweet but this was just excessive.

Service: Staff were courteous and friendly, and I appreciated the nice touch of the US flag with my ice cream to commemorate Fourth of July! Scoop prices are reasonable and they allow single splits without charging extra, which is a plus.

Ice Cream: I was a tad disappointed in my flavors (Pumpkin and Strawberry Cheesecake) on my first visit; both needed more flavor and sweetness. Texture was thick yet slightly icy.

On my second visit, I tried two classic flavors (Cookies & Cream, Green Tea), which were nicely flavored and creamy.

Will definitely go back to try their frozen Greek yogurt!

Here’s a welcome sight in a beautiful neighborhood of Mission Terrace. We can’t appreciate enough how sweet it is to have something sweeter in our hood!

Flavors are abound, and i will be bringing people here including my kids after baseball practice! Good luck Balboa Ice Cream!

Ice cream here is Good! Great customer service. They also have custom drinks. Gives Mitchel's competition...for those familiar with the area ( prices are similar). For those visiting, you can't go wrong stopping by at Balboa Ice Cream.

2nd time here. Everyone here is really nice.

But today the scoops were pretty inconsistent. (See photo. I haven't taken a single bite. I don't feel it's worth $6 as the cup's almost half empty when I'm supposed to get 2 scoops.) Ice cream is good though! So are the fruit juices and milk shakes I've tried!

Hopefully, they can scoop more consistently. I'll try them again next time to see if anything changes.

Thick and creamy ice cream with classic flavors and some new twists! I got two scoops (moose tracks and raspberry cheesecake) and loved every bite. I’ll definitely be back to this neighborhood gem! There are some places to sit but I was happy eating in the car.
