I went to kooks today to try out their burgers. I had the bacon burger it tasted good like home made. The ingredients tasted fresh. Although, it was a little too cheesy for my taste buds and I could have definitely used more beef in there. The patty was small even though it was in the menu with the “bigger patties”. My friends got the jr kook and it was literal the same size. That was kind of a disappointment because I paid $10 more than them. Anyways, I also got the Kook fries which were also a bit too cheesy and not enough pickle flavor in the sauce. They definitely compete with in-n-out animal fries tho. I will say the fact that the grilled onions and cheese were made in beer flavor definitely added a nice layer to the flavors. Again too cheesy, but definitely worth a try! I’d say if you’re a cheese lover this place would be a great pick for you. As for me I’m still chasing a better burger in our Bonita neighborhood. The service and the atmosphere was great it’s like you’re at a family cook out and the family is super nice they even gave us some water bottles on the house. I’d highly recommend trying their jr burgers just to get an idea and then maybe upgrading after deciding whether you like it or not.

I wanted to reach out and let them know the bad food that I got but I decided to post it here instead, place seemed to be busy at around 5pm, I ordered online curbside pickup at 5:00 and food came out at around 5:30, no big deal even though the baby was crying for waiting so long without the car moving, but I got to my house and I noticed all the food, fries, onion rings, bbq burger, kook snack wrap, and a single bacon, all with a burnt flavor and looked darker than how I had had it the previous week. The BBQ burger was really salty and the onion rings and fries seemed to be overcooked or cooked on extremely hot oil to get the orders out fast which it sucked because I did not enjoy the food at all. Left half the burger, most of the fries and the onion rings, the pictures are from the leftovers that were left.
I did notice 6 other clients that had to leave because online orders were backed up and there wasnt enough time to serve everyone. Hopefully this is a one time thing because food isn’t cheap and this time it wasn’t eatable or enjoyable.

Awesome Burger and place. Highly recommended. Just did my 2nd visit 3/8/25 and it was even better. Such a great place and cool family vibe that truly cares for their food and customers. Oh and to the vegans trying to give bad reviews that is such a shame going after a small family run business .

I am not exaggerating when I say this was the best burger I’ve ever had in my entire life. My boyfriend and I literally haven’t stopped talking about it. We got the Philly burger, the meat was so fresh, didn’t feel greasy and the beer cheese and onions were insane. The fries were delicious too. I can’t believe I’ve been missing out on this!! The owners were so amazing too. We definitely just became regulars! Truly can’t believe how good that was.

The burgers are delicious and the service is great! I love supporting small businesses especially when they are starting off small; I wish them all the best! This is the best burger place in the South Bay region of San Diego! Great job and keep up the great work Burger Kook!

Luckily, I found this gem down the road from me. Randomly drove by, and had to stop as I have enjoyed the cheese burger before, phenomenal to say the least.

Glad to see business rolling through as it really is a smash a$$ burger! Grab a side of fries and a nice strawberry shake, it will not disappoint.

Lovely family owned small business, look forward to another visit this coming Friday.

The food is absolutely fire. Pizza Burger. Hawaiian Burger. Kook sauce is amazing. The prices are great. They got $3 Burgers. It's the definition of a small family business. Support these guys. They deserve it.

Disregard those 1-star reviews. Some vegans got mad that they sell meat. They have vegetarian options though.
