Me and Ice Cream Chef. A Love Story. Without further delay let’s begin this review.

Ice Cream Chef is a small ice cream shop located in a huge entertainment shopping plaza on Lakes Drive in West Covina.
It’s indoor design and layout was cute and spacious; atmosphere was relaxing. They have outdoor seats with a good view of the plaza.

I was greeted by a very young male staff and he took my order. I ordered a Nutella Ice cream. And it’s texture was thick and flavor was close to perfection. I like the whip cream, slice of strawberry and banana as toppings. A perfect slice of heaven on a warm sunny Saturday. Their prices were fair. Overall, I had a good experience and ice cream. I recommend this little shop and I say this wholeheartedly I shall return.

Small little ice cream shop that I wanted to check it out and it was a good experience. They had a kiosk to order and there were 2 workers making ice creams. All the sitting area was outdoors, but there was still an area we can stand and eat.

I honestly thought I wrote a review already, pardon my lapse in memory.
Had the pleasure of trying their rolled ice cream and was excited to have a place for cold sweet treat mear the movie theater. Then Covid struck, lots of places closed and some didn’t recover. It was great that they re-opened in April 2021. I won a year’s worth of ice cream (one a month) playing their roulette. As if I needed more incentive to get ice cream. I’ve tasted their rocky road, s’mores, horchata, and, taro ice cream. Of course I like the rocky road the best.
It’s fun to watch how they mix and nudge the liquid cream on the cold slab until finally they roll the ice cream and slowly assemble them into a cup. When you choose from one of the Chef’s Specials, the topping are already set. Otherwise you can make it your own by choosing your own base flavor for the cream and whatever toppings you like.

Ice Cream Chef is amazing. The rolled ice cream tastes and has the thick rich ice cream I love. It holds up in texture and the toppings that are used are high quality. The price is competitive and worth the amount of food you get. We got the Horchata and Nutella flavors, definitely a must. They are also very Instagram worthy. The customer service was nice, upbeat, and welcoming. The shop is clean, very well decorated, and bright.

The rolled ice cream was decent, but this was 8 dollars…. The service was awesome and the staff was nice and even the place was clean but I just don’t think it’s worth it. There’s many other places that can get you more with 8 dollars but I’m giving this a 3 star because, like I said it was decent and the staff was chill.
