The restaurant truly earns its badge as one of the most beautiful restaurant in Southern California.
We came here for Christmas eve. The venue really felt magical.

Food wise, I had the beef dish. It is fall off the fork soft when you cut into it. We also had the cauliflower dish and the shrimp cake. The bill with maybe 2 glasses of wine was close $200- a decent cost.
Taste of food was decent, not superb, still decent. My one small criticism was the first few bites I had of the shrimp cakes were overly salty, but it evened out with the rest of the dish.

We drove through the windy roads of Topanga Canyon. To take extra caution driving at night as it is pitch dark and drivers often tailgate.

Be aware parking is also valet only as well. $9.

Great food and a beautiful ambiance, but I want to write this review to highlight an employee. Raul is a wonderfully kind and attentive table attendant. I came here to celebrate an anniversary and although the wine, the dishes, and the setting were impeccable, I simply could not get over how moved I was by Raul. I hope management reads this and relays the message because he deserves all the flowers.

Very pretty scenery (in the daytime), pretty good food, but bad service. Open in its current form since 1970 and located up in Topanga Canyon surrounded by trees the Inn is more of an event venue that also has a restaurant for the public. There is no parking available because parking alongside the road is not possible so your only option will be valet for $9. We had 7PM reservations and arrived @ 6:50 but no one was at the check in stand (where it said to please wait). So we waited 16 mins standing there in the cold until someone came and checked us in. Then we sat down and waited 25 minutes before anyone came to take our drink or food order so service is certainly not their strong suit. Also there was a wedding party going with a live band on the other side of the restaurant and the band was playing so loudly that we could barely hear each other speak. The cover band was very talented but considering I wasn’t invited to that party it was a bit of a nuisance. In addition the bill was more expensive than I was expecting given the food complexity and service. Also this area is beautiful but the surroundings are not lit up so if you go at night you won’t be able to see anything and will be sitting outdoors but the natural beauty is impossible to see, which was a let down for us because we were expecting more scenery during our dinner.

The menu has some pretty good options on it and I would say the food is quality, but still not the best I had in December. To start I ordered the Steak Tartare and it had some good flavors but there was a very strong soy flavor to it which it could have done without. For my entree I chose the Seabass and this was done well, no complaints because the fish was cooked as it should be and the skin was very crispy. We wanted to order dessert but we were afraid how long it would take so we skipped on it.

Overall I would give it another try but next time I would only go for lunch and just hope the service is better next time.
