Since this location is under new ownership, it has to be the worst location!!! Often times the store is not open during the listed store hours, the donuts are like huge chunks of bread with a sprinkle of icing! We used to come every other Saturday for donuts but not anymore, and they have more than doubled the price. Anyway! If you live in the area there is a Lamar’s location right off College and Metcalf that is much better and there is a place right on 101st and State Line called Fluffy Fresh.

Will never go back. Lamar’s used to be a family staple in our top few donut shops but now it’s terrible in taste and terribly expensive. We haven’t been in a while because last few times we’ve tried something changed the dough recipe or something they don’t taste good. Today my son wanted birthday donuts for breakfast (tradition in our family). Because Holt’s just happened to be closed for the week, we had limited time & we ended up at Lamar’s, hoping for the place that used to be in our donut rotation would be good again. The doughnuts leave this terrible costing and after taste in your mouth, and far too sweet without any flavor. Seriously grocery store or gas station donuts are WAY better. And then there was the cost! Just over $24 for a family of 6 to get 6 donuts!! What?!?! And I didn’t go crazy on the specialty donuts- $24 for 3 cake donuts, 1 round donut WITH a hole (so 4 donuts with a hole which are the cheapest donuts you can get) and only 2 specialty donuts. I know inflation is crazy, but for a donut that is out of hand. Even Krispy Kreme is way cheaper! If they were quality donuts the price would be worth it once in a while for a birthday donut tradition, but sadly this is the last time Lamar’s will get to try to redeem itself.

Went in and tried to place my order for a dozen donuts.. Was told we don’t serve dunks in the morning from a bar. 😂 and then the worker tries to fight us. I guess if you try to buy donuts before 7am you are a problem. I’m still wondering if the sprinkles and filling donuts count as the dozen package which was my original question. Just go to Dunkin’ Donuts and go thru the peaceful driveway

I went to Lamar’s Donuts on 3-14-2025 on my way back to California and it was not any donuts left. This is a Kansas City stable for years. The glaze donuts is number one & there shouldn’t be any reason for Lamar’s Donuts to run out of them. I love Lamar’s Donuts and in my opinion they are number one worldwide but they need to get it together and don’t run out of donuts.

Been recently loving these donuts again! *they are just so good 😋 The donut holes are one of my faves. Can’t go wrong with the classic glazed donut. Old fashion is also a classic favorite of mine. The specialty donuts are very good as well. They do have coffee & other beverages as well. A bit pricey.

I’ve been going to this place since I was a kid, for some reason donut holes have tripled in price and now cost 9.00 for a dozen donut holes. There are 50+ other donut options that won’t tear me a new one for spare dough. I’ll be going to yummy donut or donut king from now on

Fresh donuts were tasty and the frappe coffee was really good though s little expensive. For a dozen donuts and a large coffee drink or was almost $30 but I wanted donuts so why not 🙂 staff was nice and helpful and service was fast.
