I am giving these great people a 5 overall because of the kindness and great overall service. I wasn't real impressed with the "burnt ends" and the ribs were dry. The sausage just didn't have the smoky taste I like. The pulled pork was good. The key lime wasn't very good. It didn't have a key lime taste. I do want to try the beans and collards one day. I realize everyone has different tastes so I kept that in mind when rating them.

Found this bbq joint driving back from Montreal and I have to say it was some of the best bbq I’ve ever had. The owner is an amazing guy who kept checking on us and you can feel the love he puts into his bbq. The woman at the register was so kind and helped us pack up our leftovers. We ordered the ribs, pulled pork, brisket and jerk chicken. The sides were amazing as well. The coleslaw was light and the bbq beans was so smoky! We were lucky to have a slice of their key like pie as well! Would recommend this place 100% if you’re ever in town.

Stopped in today with 5 hungry adults and ordered The Mother Lode. We could’ve easily fed 2-3 more hungry adults with the amount of food! Huge portions of every meat, sampling of each side and great sauces! The kielbasa, ribs, burnt ends and pulled pork were especially delicious. We also added on pastrami (only available on Saturdays!) and it was phenomenal. Do not sleep on the Mac and cheese, rotini noodles and flavorful cheese sauce - it was our favorite side hands down. They offer bottled Pepsi products for drinks and have 4-5 tables available to eat in house! Staff and owner were all so nice and went out of their way to make us feel welcome, we will certainly be back!

I had lunch with the hubby this past Saturday at Mark's Hometown'Cue in Warrensburg (Exit 23). Usually, I am a wait a couple of weeks for the kinks to work out kinda person, but the call of good BBQ 20 minutes away (actually 35 today due to crazy tourist traffic) was too strong.

This place is the real deal, y'all. I could smell all of the wonderful bbq smells the second I stepped out of the car. It can be a bit confusing to find, as it is located in an old pizza shop and the previous store sign is pretty predominant driving by. I am sure in time that will come down.

Onto the most important part - the food. We were treated to a slice of brisket while waiting and it was absolutely heaven; moist but not too much fat and cooked until it was fall apart tender. Our order included: brisket nachos, beef and cheddar sammy, small side of coleslaw, and small side of potato salad.
Seriously delicious food. This isn't their first time running a storefront, but still, 1st day open and they were slaying it.

The sandwich was great - love the barbecued onions, which were a combo of bbq sauce and hot sauce. Plenty of meat to fill the roll and not a skimpy portion at all.
The nachos were amazing- I may never want them without a combo of bbq sauce and cheese sauce again. The menu said it should have mac and cheese on it, but we just had cheese and no noodles. Maybe a mixup? Either way also good and a repeat for sure.
Potato salad is something I am incredibly picky about. Potatoes were soft and perfectly cooked. Seasoning spot on - the right amount of salt, a perfect addition of dill. Not too much mayo. And definitely no Miracle Whip (on the list of my least favorite flavors ever).
Coleslaw was very good, just not my preference. This is of the traditional apple cider vinegar variety and I am more the KFC creamy chopped kinda girl. Still delicious and glad I tried it.

Many people were doing takeout today, but there are a few tables available. They didn't have drinks yet, but will have bottled Pepsi products soon. (There's a bunch of places to pick up a drink on the way in, which is what we did just in case).

The owner was fantastic to talk to. He mentioned they will be doing Thursday specials (possibly a Texas thing from what I gathered?) - this week a smoked burger, also a smoked Philly brisket sandwich in the future that I can't wait to try. Saturdays there will be much more variety - Beef Ribs, Smoked Turkey, and other specialty items in addition to the regular menu.

Prices very reasonable - we paid $38 for all 4 items. They also have their sauces and seasonings for sale.
Highly recommend.

Stopped in after visiting with family for the holiday. Had seen them advertised on FB with good reviews. Thought it’d be worth it to try on the way home. AWESOME ribs and sauces were so flavorful. We got Carolina bbq and crack sauce. Mac was pretty good and corn bread was yummy too. The food stayed warm for the ~60 minutes it took for us to drive home. Staff were also so nice ! I will be back and you should try the ribs lol.

The food is absolutely stellar, best bbq I’ve ever had, and at surprisingly affordable prices. The burnt ends cannot be skipped, and everything from the Cole slaw to Mac n cheese to pulled pork is just exceptional. Staff is very friendly too. Worth the drive from wherever you’re coming.
