Very hard to get a hold of when you have any questions. All automated phone menus that lead to voicemails.

I was referred by my doctor to get a colonoscopy and the process with GI Alliance is to request through an online form. So I did and then got it scheduled. Getting instructions didn't happen until a week out. Nothing ahead of time what to expect. A week out I had to reschedule once finally getting my instructions and understanding all of the process. I called a couple weeks ahead and asked for information (which was a huge pain as I mentioned to get anyone on the phone) and they said they'd contact me a week before (which I was never told before).

Once I got in for my procedure I'm sitting on the table 2 minutes before getting put under and finally I meet the doctor for the first time and his first words to me in a condescending tone are "why are you doing this"? I explained my doctor felt it necessary to get it done based on previous history. Then he lectures me on insurance and that getting this done is not something I get to just chose to do. Why would I chose this on my own? My doctor referred me.

If I had had a chance to have talked to the doctor beforehand and meet before then maybe this would have been avoided, but that's not the process here. I have all my documentation and history 4 months beforehand and clearly the doctor not the office never read it and could have advised me against this if he really felt the need to lecture me.

Obviously this is a routine procedure for many but this is not a location that helps consult patients on the best options for them before they have to go under for a procedure and that was made clear to me just two minutes before going under anesthesia.

I left the facility with fear of a massive bill my insurance wouldn't cover because of a lecture that could have easily happened earlier if the process was more consultative and didn't put you through a machine to churn through procedures.

Luckily my insurance covered everything, but giving 3 stars because this organization needs to work on its bedside manner at all stages of the patient process.

I was very appreciative of the referral from Essential Med Clinic to come see Dr. Franklin and staff. The staff was knowledgeable, efficient, and I was seen promptly even though I arrived to the office an hour early. Dr. Franklin is very personable and projects confidence in his craft. It took 1 year to get a colostomy. The staff don't answer the phone. When I did get the colostomy they made me a follow-up appointment. No one available that day. After 2 weeks of trying to get someone on the phone. I'm told I would get a call back. After 3 days of waiting I call back. It should be this hard to get taken care of.

I was a little nervous to begin with because dr Alvarez is a new doctor to me. After meeting with him he put me at ease. His assistance informed me what was going to happen the day of procedure snd answered any questions i had. Very professional and caring. The day of the procedure went very quickly and i was kept informed every step of the way. In the facility where the procedure was performed everyone professional and very caring. I definitely would and will recommend Dr Alverez to my friends.
