I have had some amazing dishes (pork chop) and not so amazing (chicken Oscar). Have been here many times and will keep coming back. Great resort all around! The caprese salad had a great presentation although the tomatoes were lacking in flavor a bit. The mushroom risotto is excellent!

Food is very good and a bit pricey. Limited options at lunch. Plenty of seating inside and out. On site parking. Staff were quick, friendly and accommodating. Worth a stop.

Bed short ribs were solid. Tasty fine-ish dining stop in a desert oasis, perhaps not worth the trip on its own, but solid for resort dining and for sure the best fine dining in a 40 mile radius. Meals were classic standards with table service that tries to please vs tries your patience. The Cambozola Cheese plate will not win novelty points from the Instagram crowd, but we finished it off and would do again. Minestrone was served warm (w sausage? no pasta) was pleasant, but the hot rolls w butter were a bigger hit at our table. Meatloaf, Beef short ribs, Mushroom risotto, and stuffed shell pasta were served up and had no complaints and came with pretty presentations. Prices were very reasonable.

While staying at Casa del Zorro in Borrego Springs we had dinner at the Fox Bistro. Delicious drinks prepared by Jerry, the bartender started us off. I had the wedge salad, one of the best I’ve eaten. Lots of bacon, blue cheese and drizzle of balsamic vinegar on top of the dressing. The Chilean sea bass was moist, firm and impressively presented atop expertly done risotto with a citrus sauce complimenting the dish. A bottle of Napa Valley Rutherford Vintners Cab paired well even with fish. Given the heavy rain and flood warnings today, they were prepared to handle the crowd of visitors and locals that visited this evening. Thank you!

On our trip to Borrego Springs, we stopped in for lunch at 1pm on a Saturday. While we were somewhat promptly seated, as there only seemed to be about 5 other tables with parties, our food took about 45 minutes to arrive. We ordered two orders of the fish and chips and the club sandwich with a request for a meat substitution. Once our food finally arrived, our fish and chips were cold, as if they'd been on the line for awhile, and the club sandwich came with the wrong meat subbed in. I eventually flagged down a food runner and told them about the situation. The food runner offered to fix the sandwich, but we were hungry and did not want to wait another 45 minutes for another cold sandwich. We were super disappointed with the wait time and the food mistake, and would have been fine with both issues if we had been given a heads up that they were short staffed, couldn't do the substitution, and that the food would take a while. A few days later, I called and asked to speak with a manager, and they told me the manager was not in that day. I told them that I would have appreciated a heads up about the food taking a little while and the fact that they were obviously short staffed, but they said "they are not allowed to say that", which only added to my frustration. They transferred me to the manager's voicemail, and I left a message gently explaining the situation. They have yet to call me back. Overall an extremely disappointing experience with an inn I've stayed at numerous times before.

Despite having a reservation and arriving on time, we were forced to wait at the entrance for about 10 minutes before anyone greeted us, let alone sat us. While speaking with the host, we were interrupted by a hotel employee who informed the host of a possible break-in onsite which should be a conversation held privately. Once seated, our waitress checked on the table maybe three times over the span of 2+ hours. Our drinks were constantly empty and had no way to order more. Of the two steaks ordered at the table (requested medium rare), both steaks came out extremely well done. 15 minutes later, they overcorrected and provided rare steaks but we were too hungry and frustrated to send it back. I highly recommend avoiding this place at all costs.

Very underwhelming. Food was fine, but nothing more. Mediocre service, and never actually pinpointed who our server was. Beautiful outdoor seating areas though.
