Relaxing Coastal Getaway – Our Go-To Retreat

This hotel has become our favorite spot for a relaxing weekend by the coast. It’s just a short drive from Sacramento, offering the perfect mix of ocean views and scenic drives. We usually visit with my cousin and book adjoining rooms—one with a cozy fireplace, couch, and queen bed, and the other with an outdoor patio and two queen beds. This setup allows us to enjoy both the patio and the fireplace, making our stay even more enjoyable.

The rooms are always spotless and come with a refrigerator, which is great for bringing our favorite snacks and drinks. We love spending the evenings playing dominoes and unwinding in the peaceful setting. The hotel also has fantastic amenities, including a hot tub, sauna, and pool, which we make use of every visit—though they were resurfacing during our last stay, so we’re excited to see the updates next time!

One of the highlights for us is staying in the end units, where we can take in the gorgeous green pastures and watch the cows next door. On our last trip, we even spotted a blue heron hunting gophers and mice—an absolutely stunning sight. The setting is so peaceful, and we always feel secure and relaxed here.

Another perk is the connection to the Tides Restaurant, where breakfast is included with your stay. We came in March for the crab feed at the Tides to celebrate my cousin’s birthday—such a great deal, and they even offer a discount on the hotel stay.

Overall, this hotel continues to be our perfect coastal retreat, and we can’t wait for our next visit!

First time staying here. Beautiful property with the landscaping and the rooms are large and nice. Comfortable beds/bedding. Really clean, our room had a view of the bay. The patio is nice to sit outside. Staff are very friendly. Our only negative is the walls are kinda thin and could hear adjacent room talking each night. Complimentary breakfast at the Wharf restaurant right on the bay is very nice. Would stay here again.

What an amazing experience. The staff is very attentive, the grounds are well manicured and our room was large, clean with a WOW view !!! Parking is plentiful and nice areas to sitting out and enjoy the view and bird watch.||Attended the winemaker dinner, not to be missed if you're in the area! The food was excellent, service was spot on and the wine was pouring (Charles Krug).||We're hooked and will be back for another winemaker dinner and overnight stay.||Thank you Inn at the Tides !

The Inn at the Tides is at the heart of Bodega Bay. Our room was modern and very clean. It had the most amazing views.We enjoyed sitting on the patio soaking in the fresh Bay air and views along with the complimentary bottle of wine (nice touch). The hotel grounds were well kept with beautiful foliage. The front desk staff were exceptionally kind and accommodating. We look forward to staying here again.

Needs updated and room smelled like smoke. Great beds tho, stairs hard on older knees with luggage. Restaurant needs updated. Just OK. The seals were a treat to watch at restaurant tho. Continental breakfast included wasn’t really continental but you get 25% off restaurant breakfast. Wouldn’t stay again.

Overnight getaway to the Inn at the Tides. We stayed in room 202, which was very pretty and has a nice view out over the bay. Heating (necessary in March) and ambiance is provided by a gas fireplace controlled by a thermostat. It starts up with quite a loud "FOOM", which startled us in the middle of the night when it came on to heat the room. The room has a refrigerator and coffee maker. Simple bathroom has one sink and a tub / shower. Hat water takes a bit of time (30 seconds, perhaps) to get to the shower and sink at first, but then the water is plenty hot. The king bed was a bit firm for my taste, but prefect for my wife. Lots of fluffy pillows were provided. A complimentary bottle of local Chardonnay was in the fridge. A continental breakfast at the Tides restaurant across the street was included.

Cute and quaint stay. The hot tub and pool were still not functioning during our stay, which was a disappointment for the kids. Other nice amenities for this area were that there was cable tv in the room and Wi-Fi available which other hotels I’ve stayed at in this area did not offer. I did not realize this hotel was actually located across the street from the water so it’s not actually waterfront as I had anticipated mentally when I thought about where The Tides was located. It’s still a very nice location and very close by to The Tides, though. I would stay here again.
