The caramels were hard and stuck to their paper cups and the bark toffee was soft instead of crunchy. Generally disappointed.

This is an old candy shop and they still practice customer service and reacting with each customer and informing and answering all your questions. It's the best candy and there's a lot of history there too! I remember the original shop that used to be in DC. The same candy I got 50 years ago they still make it!!

I've been going to this establishment for quite some time. And Miss Amy is by far the most amazing person to speak with over there and has an excellent eye for making chocolate desserts as well as artistic desserts. the chocolate shoe that she had was absolutely perfect for my wife's Valentine's Day. everyone should at least stop in to get chocolate truffles or a chocolate dessert with them because it is worth the visit.

Met a head case Karen today, 12/3/24 at Velatis around noon. Tall woman, dyed blonde longish hair in a rather 1960’s style. I was a considerate customer doing absolutely nothing but ordering my candy. And her aggressiveness was unreal. I’ve been there at least a dozen times in the past years and the candy is wonderful and the staff so nice. But this woman definitely takes her personal issues out on her customers. Especially black customers - watch out for this woman.

This is a top quality candy store that treats you as it would have at its founding 150+ years ago. The chocolate delights are made fresh, in the store, and packed fresh to your order. Today I bought my wife's favorite and they even added a decorative bow to the shrink wrap sealed box of chocolates.
